John and Abigail Adams … 4th of July celebration

This meal, first served by Abigail Adams on the Fourth of July, has become a New England tradition. Legend says it was first served July 4, 1776, although in truth it was probably first served by Adams upon his return from Europe in 1773. The Adams' did make this menu their July 4 tradition and served it each year until his death.
